LinkedIn banner

Resize an image for a LinkedIn banner

A good LinkedIn banner export is 1584 × 396 px — a wide 4:1 strip. Upload your photo, choose LinkedIn Banner, drag the crop, and download a JPG.

Why most photos don't fit

Phone photos are tall or close to square, but the banner is four times wider than it is tall. Most of the photo has to be cut, so choose which strip stays.

Keep faces and logos visible

On a personal profile, your round profile photo sits over the lower left of the banner. Keep important details in the centre and right.

Use Crop and drag the image until the part you want sits in the middle band. If nothing should be cut, use Fit and fill the sides with a soft blur.

How to do it in FrameFit

  1. Open FrameFit with the LinkedIn Banner format selected.
  2. Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP.
  3. Adjust framing, then download.

Questions

What file type do I get?
A JPG named with the format and size, for example photo_linkedin-banner_1584x396.jpg.
Will a small photo look sharp?
If your photo is narrower than 1584 px it gets enlarged and may look softer. FrameFit warns you when that happens.
